Drew Griffin (1961/1962 – December 17, 2022) was an American journalist best known for his work at the American cable news channel CNN.

Griffin spent ten years as an investigative reporter for CBS 2 News in Los Angeles. He joined CNN in May 2004.

Griffin covered the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in September 2005. Griffin’s reports about some New Orleans police officers looting sparked an investigation. He also broke stories about nursing home deaths after Katrina. Griffin and CNN were both nominated for Peabody Awards for their Hurricane Katrina coverage.

Griffin won a business and financial reporting Emmy Award in 2005 for his reports on a fault in Ford Motor Company vehicles which caused them to catch fire. In 2006, he won his second Emmy for the CNN Presents documentary How to Rob a Bank, and in 2007, he won his third for Hidden Spending, an Anderson Cooper 360° segment about congressional spending. In 2015, he received a Peabody Award for Crisis at the VA, a story that exposed hidden wait times and deaths at VA hospitals across the country. His second Emmy was given in 2017 for Trump University Fraud, a documentary about the fraudulent practices at Donald Trump’s real estate school.
